Support a good cause while enjoying a night of nostalgic music and fun
Hi, My name is Mike Dennehy. I moved to Buxton in 2022, after losing my wife Abi in 2019 to small cell lung cancer, (never smoked in her life!)She was 53 years old, and was born and grew up in Sheffield.
As I am now retired, and have a vast collect of 1950's music in the original format,( made of shellac,78rpm) I have decided to put them to good use.
I have done events at a few venues in the last year, including the 'United Reform Church' in Buxton for the 'Buxton Fringe Festival", The Old Clubhouse in Buxton and Devonshire Place retirement apartments, also in Buxton. I had lots of positive feedback, so am hoping to expand into other towns around the Peak District, which Blythe House Hospice cover.
All of the money that I raise through these gigs is being donated to Blythe House Hospice, to enable them to continue the amazing work that they do in the local community.
The hospice specialises in providing hospice care at home across North Derbyshire, through our 24/7 Hospice at Home and overnight Roaming Car services.
